I have friends that would be able to possibly help with art and sound, however they are all currently doing their final year of university and time is pretty tight so not sure how much they would be able to do.

Who knows, maybe by the time we get this started we'll find/get some one joining that could help. At least, Like ShadowsEdge said, there's open source stuff to fall back on. I know I'm not gonna be any help. I can't even make a decent looking health bar... and that's just a fancy line.

It can be better then a straight popularity vote because it gives you the chance to discuss the decision as it's being made. It can take a little longer, which is why people like .Aaron may not like it, but I think the results are usually better.
