Odd - how is your setup so rife with viruses? Did you just blithely click the "yes run this random exe as admin"?

Oh, malwarebytes is still free.

Please stop using code tags. They are for formatting code syntax when members post a question about a programming language.

& you shouldn't need the full version just to do scanning. The full version offers automated services. The free version is just fine, & the same strength functionality.

Malwarebytes is a free software tool but has a "pay for" option, the free version works great there is no reason to buy the program unless you really like it or you find you need the paid version for some reason.

As for your computer problem with viruses I would suggest you save any files pictures and data you need onto something like an external hard disk and wipe out the computer and re-format it with a new install of windows. If you are unsure about how to do this you can look online for tutorials, or take it to a local computer repair store.

If you decide to try this by yourself remember that you cannot save programs, they will need to be re-installed and the only thing you can save is the data. You will also need the windows disk that came with the computer to boot from and the drivers that came with the computer. After you install the OS and the drivers go to the manufactures website and D/L the latest drivers for your computer.

GL :)

The paid version will run as a service & work pro-actively. The free version is a removal only tool, therefor it only works retro-actively.

Yeah, Ok I suppose there is some use for the paid version but I do not see the need. :)

Are you getting a bit off-topic, or is it just me?
Do you visit torrent sites, porn sites or "free software and music" sites? Especially if they are from the far reaches of the Internet. If its off the beaten track, avoid it unless completely necessary.

Also, AVG is good

The hell if it is.

I used to think AVG was inefficient. Google "C0000135 %hs is missing" AVG is the worst piece of crap software that I've ever come across.

Well when you put it like that...
It works fine for me - do you mind explaining why you feel this way about AVG?

I run a computer shop that offers virus removal service.

No joke, 9 out of 10 machines that come in infected with viruses, are running AVG. Before Windows 7, it's just inefficient. Now it just breaks down & causes BSOD errors.

What a joke.

You're right about that - I had a Win 98 computer (home-made) and it BSOD'd because of some AVG artefacts trying to delete a virus (long-since gone)
Eventually the whole PC just failed.
