i got a question. i was trying very basic c a while back, but the book i got was writing dos applications. how is windows involved?

If you are a beginner is best to begin with dos programming. Then when you become good at that you can move on to windows programming. I recommend learning c++ and C. If you are really interested in windows programming you can go to the following website:
