How are you roll'n this Halloween?

Posted 27 October 2011 - 11:49 AM

Halloween's here in a few days - how are you planning on decorating or celebrating? A few years back my buddies and I would go all out... fog machines would be refilled (from their use during the weekend... summer.. random days that end in 'y')... great costumes.. tombstones... and a perpetual need to go to the store to buy "more candy for the kids". Pretty much Halloween started the first day a haunted house in the area opened and ended when the last one closed. So about a month and a half.

Now, I am a bit older and the house decorations tapered off, but I have switched to more costume focus and a generally more "out in the wild alcohol fuled" experience.

Last year I received an unexpected perma vacation from my job which threw my Halloween outfit out of whack, and filled me with a bah-hum-kin mood. This year's a bit better and I am going back to my zombie roots from a few years back... that coupled with my stylish new labcoat and patch should work out well.

Saturday's a Halloween party at my cousin's followed by evening prowling and various bar parties.

How about the rest of yous planning on celebrate? Have you automated your Halloween lights like the video on youtube, or have wicked awesome decorations? Do you have spooktacular costumes? Haunted houses - have you got your scare on? Have you stock piled enough candy for the kids?

I should snag a few more bags and a bowl for the "take one" setup I'll leave behind... as if any of the malcontents in my complex would abide by the 'take one' rule.

Checking my costume closet...

Ah... Musketeer. With the new movie out and all this one seems rather timely.

I sold all my duplicates, sewing materials, sewing machine, prop making molds/masters/tools, etc.

But I kept my favorite stuff and one set of completely choice/deluxe/pimped-out props for each one. I mean what's a Klingon costume without fully electronic Klingon tricoder and disruptor pistol? Or Farscape commando without the BIG rifle and electronic pulse pistol? And you sure can't be a viper pilot without pistol and helmet (complete with lights, voice amp and bluetooth for the cell phone)

deadmau5 head to all the parties so I can creepily watch the sexy women.

Plus, the eyes and mouth light up so I become the life of the party on the dance floor!

I have sloth's approval... I can die happy now!

Also, if you aren't getting shit-tossed on Halloween, you are doing it wrong.

Yes, the weekend, my bad, yo.

If you really want to go crazy, though, go balls to the wall and make it so you don't remember Monday night. Go big or go home, ya know?

I'm working on my TF2 Heavy costume, already have my shirt and pants, I just need a bandolier and the vest and I'll be done.

Don't really want to shave my head, though. Might buy a top hat, to go with the hat thing.

You can buy bald caps at most halloween stores... I would advocate that.

*squee* can we have a show and tell of our costumes?
