I've had an account for a while but never got to introduce my self. I'm a Java programmer; somewhere between intermediate-adv. I used a book to teach my self, and its great!

Can I ask what book it was? I am on the verge of learning Java. I know intermediate level Python, so I am near enough.

Haha,Understandable.
On the left of your posts, it has your picture and other things.
You will notice a green tab, that has reputation: 5.
Then you will notice your post count. 10.
Everyone has reputation, some have none, some have heaps and some have under none.
If your post is bad, people will press the negative reputation at the bottom of the page. If it is really good, they press the positive reputation. The more reputation, the more accepted and popular you become.
The less.. well...
I was simply congratulating you on your high level of reputation, with such a short time being registered.

Remember though that reputation does not tell the whole story.
For example moderators have a lot of posts asking people to post more information, use code tags or even reasons why they close a topic. They however do not receive reputation for the post, even though in reality they are performing a service to the forum
