I need a motherboard for my 15.6" HP laptop - did research but too many to chose from, I only want to pay $100.00

I would suggest contacting HP with your model number (what ever that is) and getting a replacement one.

You do not want to Choose from just any mother board. Only certain ones will fit your laptop. You need to find one with the same part number as the old motherboard.
There should be a model number and serial number on the mother board itself.
Most of the laptop mother boards that I've had to replace usually cost $150 to $250 Plus installation fee.

Anything from HP is going to be expensive. There are a number of computer warehouse places that I order laptop parts form. But less than $100 might be a difficult find.
Exactly as Calvin suggested, you can't just throw a motherboard in. You need one specific for that model number, for that run of assembly. Also the last few years of HP laptops have been horribly bad for overheating GPU chips, & are growing increasingly difficult to find.
