good program for making 3d graphics

does anyone know a program for 3d graphics? i Tried fastgraph and directx but i couldn't get it to work. what heppens is i can't initilize them in vb.net. any help with that or another good program would be great.

Maya
Blender (it's a free one)
Are good for making 3D graphics. Not too sure about initializing them in vb.net though.
