So, as Ruby continues to work towards a 2.0 release, there is talk of "gemifying" the standard Ruby library. There seems to be many benefits to doing this and I think it's a great idea, but I'd like to ask: What do you think?

I think the only issue I have with it is that now when I'm helping somebody or looking up an issue, I have to keep track of which version of ruby AND which version of each gem I'm running. Fun stuff.

Yeah, I can see a dependency of a specific version of the stdlib gem being a part of every Gemfile.
