There are a couple of sites offering free certifications (coding, network administration, whatnot).
Do you have any experience with them?
I've registered with brainbench and passed two free tests in December just out of curiosity without any real preparations, but I don't know if it worth paying for them. I've noticed that Chris has some in his resume, too.
Does it make employers interested in you more, do they let you skip some test, etc. ?
Brainbench have some free tests again (normally costing around 50 bucks).
And Java black belt is a community to prepare and and pass Java tests - without the complex profile management system of Brainbench, but totally free.
Should we start a thread, where people could post the certs they've just earned?

I did Brainbench. Yes it is very useful. Now I have Sam&Thompson Certificates in MIcrosoft Office Proficiency. I did Cisco 1-3, but unlike when it was still new, they require students to complete the whole 4 semesters before you can get a certificate.
