I recently bought a new laptop - the first computer I've bought since I left the states. My problem is that it shipped with Windows 7 in French. I understand the French well enough, but I'd like it in English. It's Windows 7 Home Premium, so the operating system doesn't normally seem to support language changes.
Is there a way to change the language without having to upgrade Windows? Maybe some free language packs from a third-party that can be installed?
Thanks for the help.

Nope it seems you need Windows Ultimate for that... or buy windows 7 in English.
There's this concern, or so I hear when trying to use 'Vistalizer':

Where'd you get the laptop? Can you call them up and ask for a English install disc?
If not - heck.. windows7 is going for about 80 bucks.. so not too bad.
