how can i replace chars when i type in a cellmasked of a datagridview

hello i want to replace the value of a cell that it have a mask of time like this "##:##"
i want to type the numbers and the text inside this cell be replaced for the new char for example:

         value of the cell = "15:05"
         so i press "2" and 
         new value of the cell should be like this = "25:05"
         how can i get this value and replaced for the new or maybe how can i select a part of the value
         to be replaced for the next char typed.
         thx for your help.

I don' t understand your constraints there. If a user is in a textbox with a value already wouldn't they just highlight the character they want replaced and type a character over it?
