Hi from the new C++CK in town!

Posted 31 March 2007 - 11:02 PM

Hello, My name is Megen Krinard and I live an hour
north of San Fransisco. I am going to college online studying C++, CSS and
Art Online this semester and last semester I took HTML and XHTML. I am so
far managing a 4.0 grade Point Average but last weeks C++ may kill that
for good, "Never give up, never Surrender"

I am an artist that is to shy to show my work so it hangs in my wonderful
apartment and sits quietly at www.krinard.com
They say I'm a natural and my art is better than a big mac, but no one
offers to pay the $1200 to $12,000 price. I did all the painting for another
more famous painter and that work sucked and sold for many zeros more!
Go figure.

I am writing a stress relief program for the cubicle workers of America, I'm
hoping as "company policy" 15 minutes after lunch, and I have 75% of the
content written by well known authors and motivational speakers, not I just
need the other 756% of the programming know how.

I am trying to get my painting BoxGirl

to step out of the painting and dance off to freedom, but it's been a rough,
slow, frusterating proccess.

This is the first forum I have joined, or even heard of. I can hardly believe that
it is here! The days I've spent sobbing because my logic was good but it
wouldn't compile could have been saved by just a friendly nudge in the right direction!

{code] reply to "that's not code" snot nosed two year old? Because my code and request for help were NOT on my introductory pages!
I have A Huge for me C++ problem that I have been actually crying about because with no help, I don't know what to do, so I was greatly suprised to see that you coders existed. I am sorry that my introductory code was not up to your obviously very exacting standards and I also have never seen this sort of

thing before and do not understand how it is to be used even after reading all of the instructions I could find.

Maybe I should just give up a quit after all if I'm not even good enough to ask a question or introduce myself.

I hope you get to feel how you have made me feel. Thank you.

My Dearest William,
I mistakenly posted a reply written while I was crying so hard I was worried I would fry my keyboard and it was not meant for you, you look like a kind interesting person that would be a good person to meet and I am so sorry! The person who said my intro wasn't code, or maybe that even my C++ problem wasn't even code, I don't know, I'm just on that edge of needing help or guidance so bad it's make or break time. I don't believe in giving up and I didn't need that person putting me down when if I can't get some work done on this simple project tonight , 6 months of dreams are wasted and I can't believe I can cry so hard and still type.

Sorry I wrote you by mistake, gotta go snot my nose and maybe someone will have looked at my decomp and seen where I'm trying to put too many functions in one place. Or maybe I am just not good enough.
is this a made up html sort of thing? I've never seen

so I am sorry if I didn't use it exactly right the first time but it was supposed to be an introduction, not a code submission.
I wish there were places where people like eLliDKraM could all get together and just enjoy the hell on earth their minds woulds create. My universe is a beautiful one, and people like me keep making it better and better.

I'm gonna break this down for Megen:

1) Do you walk in to a room of people you've never met before and immediatley wave pictures, glamour shots, and artwork in the air?

Most people don't, so this is one reason people are ridiculing you.

2) Words are words, code is C++, Java, HTML, CSS, etc. You put
tags around your words. The instructions on the page says "Put
Tags around your code", not your words.

3) Mark (eLliDKraM) jokingly pointed out that you wrapped your words with a
tag and you replied calling him a snot nosed 2 year old and went in to this huge drama filled explanation about how your life is going to end because he made a joke

The bottom line, take a deep breath and calm down. You're old enough to know that when people joke around, you blow it off or make a joke back, you don't cry about it on the interweb.

Get over it love! He was joking

JOKE

1. Something said or done to evoke laughter or amusement, especially an amusing story with a punch line.
2. A mischievous trick; a prank.
3. An amusing or ludicrous incident or situation.
4. Informal
a. Something not to be taken seriously; a triviality: The accident was no joke.
b. An object of amusement or laughter; a laughingstock: His loud tie was the joke of the office.

IT hurts to be made fun of especially by a clique of people one does not know.

The accident was no joke.
b. An object of amusement or laughter; a laughingstock: His loud tie was the joke of the office.

An intro normally contains photos and what I do is paint.
So You people hurt my feelings, then today, they got stomped on again.

Now I'm so happy Ha Ha it's all just a joke..... at my expense. Have you read any modern writings about "oh, it's just a joke" , You will find it says a lot more about you than my crying because my feelings got hurt says about me.

Bye,

Megen

See, a quote is something someone ELSE said. You don't quote yourself. Unless you said that prior to saying it and you are now quoting what you said.
