How to Stop the Auto Leveling?

Posted 06 December 2011 - 03:16 PM

My intro project to developing for WP7 is a Particle Program. The gravity on the particles is based on the orientation of the Zune and is set to always fall "down". This creates the possibility for playing at any angle and everything still looks fine.

This is all fine and dandy but when you switch angles significantly the game rotates to fit that. This makes everything really... well, odd.

Is their a way to disable this changing of the screen?

Our resident Alumni(and former Admin) Core wrote a great article about setting orientations. It would seem that you would want to force a specific orientation so that the application doesn't rotate. This should help you out.

The PageOrientation enum has added a few more values since Core's article.

Thanks, that was helpful, seems I need to put a bit more thought into what I create before just jumping in however. A lot of the features I wanted were not supported by XNA but were silverlight instead, that turned the project into a mess when I started doing imports everywhere.

I'm going to go learn some Silverlight now... fun, fun.

Thanks again.
