Pedestrian Bear Finds a Friend!

Folks our good old friend Pedestrian Bear is lonely. So lonely he has taken to the streets to find a friend... a companion... someone to embrace... to hold.. so CARE for. The problem is ol' Pedestrian Bear is bad at directions and his valiant white electrician's van just doesn't have GPS. He needs you, his must loyal of compatriots, to direct him over the phone to the location of his new friend. He will follow your directions to a T over his disposable cellphone and hopefully you can get Pedestrian Bear a friend for his after school Ice Cream Social!
Controls:
w or up arrow = move up
d or down arrow = move down
d or right arrow = turn right
a or left arrow = turn left
Space: pauses game (any key unpauses)
alt-f4: closes down the connection to Pedestrian Bear.
Enter: select option
Interface:

The timer in the upper left is how long until someone becomes erroneously suspicious of the friendly Pedestrian Bear-mobile. What can he say - some folks just do not like taking chances!
When that timer runs out he's sunk and you, his amigo, have failed him.

The bar over indicates if Pedestrian Bear was successful at picking up his new friend!

The long bar on the right shows pertinent messages as they are needed.
Navigation:

Pedestrian Bear's friends can be found by the green circle. Navigate Pedestrian Bear around the poorly maintained streets with the WSAD or arrow keys.
Speech craft:

When Pedestrian Bear is pulled up along to his potential friend he must over come a small obstacle - convincing his new friend to join him on a trip! People are always warning about strangers so you need to help Pedestrian Bear gain the confidence of his friend-to-be!
The top bar shows the friend's name and his suspicion level. With the right combinations of options (1-3) Pedestrian Bear and whittle away at that suspicion and get it below the yellow bar. Each friend has a different threshold - so don't expect this to be routine!

Once that happens Pedestrian Bear's friend jumps in the nondescript electrician's van to have an ice cream party! Aren't ice cream parties fun?!
Do not dally too long - the count down timer here indicates how long the special little person will wait before they have to go.
Pedestrian Bear needs to wait for each option to recharge before using it again.
Oh, and one last thing... occasionally an option will INCREASE the suspicion! OH NOES! Each friend is different and you must gamble on which choice could be the one bad one. If the friend's threshold increases past its maximum they will run off screaming and hollering like the dirty little urchin they are. Let's not have that!
If you feel you are not making progress you can flee the encounter and make your way home
Home:

Home is the safe spot you need to navigate Pedestrian Bear to so the fuzz can cool down. This is indicated by the yellow circle on the map.
So how about it? Let's get Pedestrian Bear a new friend to take to an Ice Cream Social!

As I said - basic VB.NET.. no XNA.. the graphics were all PAINT.NET, Inkscape, and MSPAINT. The rest - basic forms. See the power that a bit of will can do ya?!
