There's been a lot of talk about virtual machines on the forum of late. Personally, I love them. I started using them when I went back to school. They were great tools for learning all the different aspects of operating systems. The ability to mess around and revert to a previous state was great. So, I soon started using them at home. I've got a number of VMs on my main computer and frequently will boot them up to do something. They make great sandboxes for downloading things from unknown sites if the software you're using allows for snapshots and reverting to previous states. They can be great for testing software on different operating systems than your host as well.
What are your opinions on VMs? Do you love them, hate them, don't care on way or the other?

We use them a lot at work, and I have an ESX box at home. A good solution for a system that isn't using much more that 512 MBs of RAM and little CPU time
