VS2008 is a litterbug

Posted 19 December 2011 - 05:58 PM

I've got no idea if this is the right forum, but it's an IDE question, so I figured this place would be close enough.

I'm using VS2008 to develop reports for SSRS, and when I preview the reports in VS2008, it creates .rdl.data files, littering them all over my solution directories. This is a pain for two reasons:
  • It creates a mess I have to deal with before checking code in to SVN
  • VS2008 uses the .rdl.data files (if they exist) rather than polling the database for fresh datasets

From a developer standpoint, this sux, because I have to continually delete the files while I'm working on DB schemas and dataset query creation. Does anyone know how to suppress VS2008 from writing these .rdl.data files to the file directories?

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0
