how can i insert text file to my project? visual basic 2008

Posted 28 December 2011 - 11:53 PM

hi

I have a problem with this I do this text file
I learned how to read information from it and the elements
But how can I include it to send it to my Dr.
Do you put him in the Zip file with my Project
I do this (Project then add elemnt)
Or make it in desktop
???

when the form is loaded a text file named “ITEMS.txt” contains all information about the items should be read. The maximum number of items in the file is nine and maximum quantity for each item is four. The file includes:

•Item’s image name
•Quantity
•List of sizes
•price
Example
Shirt.Png 3 S M L 13

Are you just asking how to include this text file in your Visual Studio project?

How to: Add Existing Items to a Project

P.S.
I've moved this to VB.NET. Try to post your questions in the correct forums please.

You're not making much sense. Please take time over your responses so that we can fully understand what it is you are asking.

I assume you mean "bin/Debug"? (It helps to get these sort of "minor" details right...)

That should be the working directory for your applications while you are debugging them, so you should be able to read your text file by name alone if you put it in there. Either that or the root directory for your project. I can't remember if VS 2008 used that as the CWD or not.

Working directory is always the path the executable is located in, unless you change it in code.

On the other hand, if you use fully qualified paths, it's a non-issue.
