The more I think about this deal, the more I like the idea of it. I really want to sign up for it, I just hope the sale is still going by the time I get my tax refund back.

Yeah, I have been reading the graphics programming part one on my kindle on my way to work. It's really nicely written and structured.

I've started with the C++ books as I've been meaning to improve my C++ knowledge, it all seems really well written and it seems to have been written by our good friend Frank Luna.

I was just on their web site and I couldn't find any end date. I'm enjoying the books that I've browsed so far. The 3ds Max stuff will be interesting.

I have scanned through all the mathematics material, as well as the AI anc C++ stuff, the maths is top-nothc in my opinion, well-structured lessons that progress logically. I'm just starting to branch out from Liberty BASIC into the C-languages ( too much reading and not enough programming! ) but some of the beginner stuff is ringing bells, and making sense, so, assukign the lessons flow as easily as the amths I'm hoping to be getting somewhere soon

Yes, I have completed the Maths course. I found it a pleasure to read, which I have never said about a maths textbook before. I liked how it presented a new concept and then showed how it is applied in games.

I actually broke down and borrowed some money to go ahead and get this before it ended, even though it doesn't say anything about when it will end. I started with the C++ books, and I've already gotten 1/3rd of the way through the first book. It definitely seems worth the money so far, and the fact that I have 11 other courses means that I've got plenty to study over the next several months.

This is a quality that few teaching resources use, I find it difficult to find stuff tht shows the wide-spread applicaitons of the stuff they teach. Some of the algorithm stuff in the AI and C++ stuff looks very good indeed.

Wow that is pretty impressive
all their courses for $99
seems too good to be true almost
thats like a tank of petrol here
that amount of material would keep you going for a year.
Peace out.

Hi, I know it's been quite a few months since the last post but I'm interested in the Game Institute course and I'd like to know if the course actually teaches you to code your own 3d engine from ground up or is it like Unity 3D kind of thing where they supply the engine and teach you to work with it (which I wouldn't prefer)? In that case I'd rather browse hundreds of free Unity 3D programming videos online. I beg people who have taken the course (at $99) to reply here.

They teach you the skills needed to build a 3d engine, they do not teach you how to build a 3d engine from the ground up though. The skills learnt by taking the lessons could be applied to create an engine, but you would also need extra knowledge, like c# knowledge for building the engine interface.
If you are looking to make program a 3d game with direct x and c++ though this is a good option for learning.
