Vim with Farsi ( Persian )

Posted 06 January 2012 - 02:20 PM

I would like to write in Farsi with my Vim Editor.

I tried
"set enconding=unicode"
"set enconding=utf-16"

I found this documentation:
http://vimdoc.source...ldoc/farsi.html
http://vim.1045645.n...-td2844636.html

Did you build/compile your installation according to the instructions?

Excerpt from instruction said:

*E27*
In order to use right-to-left and Farsi mapping support, it is necessary to
compile Vim with the |+farsi| feature.

I'm guessing you did since the image looks right-to-left text.

Did you install the Farsi fonts from their folder into the O.S.? If you don't install the fonts into the O.S. then it can't show you the funny squiggles - Duh.

  • I don't use or even know what Vim is.
  • I don't speak or read in squiggle. I'm an American.
