GIF Compression

Posted 07 January 2012 - 06:21 PM

I have an animated GIF that was originally 3.5 megs. Using photoshop I was able to shrink it to 275K, I'm not satisfied. I would like to shrink the GIF to atleast 150K or smaller. I have tinkered with every setting within photoshop, from colors to you name it, if it's in photoshop I already tried it. :)

With the vast amount of GIF animation software on the net, one could spend days downloading and trying. Any recommendations or experience on a GIF animation software that has an algorthim compression that is better then Photoshop, besides Fireworks, preferable free or opensource ? If there is only a commercial alternative that is less expensive then fireworks, I'll take it.
