Hi,
I have a client who needs route planning software for his snowplow/landscaping business. My first thought was to check out the google maps API but I was disappointed to read that it allows for only a maximum of 8 waypoints per request ( with a free account ) or a maximum of only 23 waypoints per request with a premier business account. The client wants to be able to plan routes with 30 or more stops (waypoints).
I was hoping someone here might have some suggestions as to either a workaround or another ( preferably free or relatively inexpensive ) api suggestion.
Thanks for you help!
Charlie

Well no.. trying to circumvent google's api is a less than desirable outcome, right?
Other cheap services would be something like 'tripit' or 'dashfly'... or a commerical-of-the-shelf program...

Is there any reason the software you make using that API can't do multiple routes and string them together for the user output? The last stop of the first query becomes the first stop of the second query and so on? Is that practical?

I've never used it personally but an alternative many have used in place of Google Maps is OpenStreetMap. You could take a look to see if it serves your needs.
