Cannot start a new topic

I am logged in but the page displays something like ...You cannot post a new question...

I have posted on this site before: 8/4/11, and 9/28/11 as the most recent.

What do I need to do to be able to post?

I just checked the VB.NET Advanced Discussion permissions and didn't see anything indicating posting restrictions. You don't seem to have any posting restrictions either.

Now I see that it says "You must have at least 10 posts to start a new topic in the VB.Net Programmers sub-forum." I do not have those.

I think the problem is that I am trying to post to a sub-forum instead of to the VB.Net forum.

I was just able to post to the VB.Net forum.

Remember - the "Advanced Discussion" forums are for non-help related questions. Your topic here most definitely is a help question.. so not for the advanced forum.

Wrong.
The correct course of action is to open a topic under the Site Questions & Support sub-forum, just as was done. This way any number of the team members is able to address the situation.

Please don't give advice on how to ask for help on our forum. You clearly are not familiar with the proper channels.
