Hi their!
I am currently studying for a foundation degree in computer science (Web Specialist).
I work with my family company and my projects are real company based projects.
I have only just started the course and things are going pretty well so far.
I have learnt a basic knowledge of java and feel pretty comfortable with things at the moment.
For my project this year, I want to re vamp my company website and add a few features. One feature is I want to add a form which will ask the customer for various details, which
will provide enough information for a program to work out a price (based on geographic location, dimensions of product etc). Then, the price to be inserted into a file. This file would be a pre written quotation, which will then be automatically emailed to the potential customer.
I am looking for information on how this can be done and which script/languages I need to learn.
I am new to computing, so any direction would be most gratefully appreciated.
What do I need to know? :SAny Avicenna on my project would be appreciated

HTML, Javascript (suggest investigating a third-party library as well as an adjunct to this; jQuery is one of the most popular), a server-side language such as PHP (or Ruby, Python, Perl), and SQL if you need a database.

You cannot go wrong with what JackOfAllTrades said but for more information it might well be worthwhile reading another recent post which has many replied that may help.
