Window form not responding

Posted 31 January 2012 - 02:47 AM

Hi Everyone

I am trying to develop Window application which used Skype to make call.

When the call in progress,It would not allow me to click on any form element.

My whole application are not responding when i check in "task Manager".

I try to used thread as well as background worker but not work for me.

Can anyone give some idea how to overcome with these issue?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

You might want to take a look at the Skype API which enables you to integrate Skype with 3rd party applications.

Freezing elements is pretty easy. Just in the appropriate moment, call in a function which set all the elements'(textboxes, buttons) Enabled property to False.

what do you mean by "not responding when i check in 'task Manager'"?? You want to hide the process from task manager?

Are you getting an error message or is it just not responding - Are you using loops at all? You might be stuck in one. If you think you are, and it looks correct try adding 'Me.Refresh()' in your loop; it will update your form.

Me.Refresh just redraws the GUI, but we shouldn't resort to that to get this to work properly. Like patching a leak in a ship made of toothpicks, somewhere else there's going to be another leak. You'll need to show us your code.

I am using thread to sleep the process for few second and then i move to next call.

use to make call
oCall = oSkype.PlaceCall(telephone)

//check the call in progress or not.
Do While oCall.Status <> cCallStatus_Inprogress -
//exit the loop if call in progress
loop
//sleep to few second
Thread.Sleep(waitingSeconds)
//if still calling state after waiting second
if oSkype.Convert.CallStatusToText(oCall.Status) = "Calling" then
  //finish the call
end if
Do While oCall.Status = cCallStatus_Inprogress
  If oSkype.Convert.CallStatusToText(oCall.Status) = "Finished" Then
     //finish the call here and exit the do loop
  end if
loop
move to next call

During the process i want to put pause so that it cannot move to next call,but i cannot able to make to click on the form button.

Have you taken a look at their help files for the Skype4COM?

I wish I could be of more help, unfortunately I can't seem to get the Skype4COM referenced into my project properly, it keeps crashing. So I am unable to recreate this environment where the error is occurring. If you don't get anymore help I definitely suggest going onto their development forums they are very helpful. :)
