Cisco expansion card

Posted 04 February 2012 - 12:39 AM

Hi all!

We decided to cancel the rent of the dedicated server we had in order to make our own installations.

We bought 2 Cisco switches and a Cisco 1760 modular router.

So, I know we need an expansion card (a WIC : WAN Interface Card). The problem is, we will have a cable modem for now.

Can we use a T1 card to achieve this? After research I found that the cable modem will offer 10mbps/1mpbs and T1 typically offers 1.544mbps/1.544mbps. This does not seem to be compatible, however I can maybe assume that the T1 card will download 1.544 but upload 1mbps.

We have the cable modem with an Ethernet card, anyone knows if a T1 card will fit? We want to avoid paying $300 for a card that won't work.

Thanks!
