If you're learning new languages, you should (in my opinion) get the book "Seven languages in seven weeks: A pragmatic guide to learning programming languages" by Bruce A. Tate. I ended up not using it for the seven languages in seven weeks thing, I loved it as a stepping stone to new languages, and it gives you a really nice flavour of the languages' syntax and ideas.
The languages it covers are:
Ruby/Io/Prolog/Scala/Erlang/Clojure/Haskell
So even if you don't like Erlang, the last two should be useful
