Welcome! MacDill, eh? It must be nice down in Florida! High-five on the COBOL - less so the FORTRAN. Hahaha. Alpine Milking Goats? Are these something you are cultivating at home, or a wish for when you are older?

Have you worked on/are working on anything particularly cool or nifty?

Being gov'ment work I bet you've seen some just horror scenes of coding.. hahaha.

I might have to pester you to a FORTRAN or COBOL 101 tutorial for the masses. ;)

Hi!

My last COBOL experience was with VS COBOL in 1989. <g>

Everything I do now is in VB.Net and/or C#.

I have a small farm 35 miles north of the base. That's where the milking goats are ...

Ah.. well there goes my plan of trying to entice the newer generation with the siren song of COBOL. Hahaha.

A small farm with goats? I'll bite to - pics or it didn't happen! Living in, what I can only assume, is a swampy morass of 'gators and giant pythons I have a hard time seeing goats survive, unattended, while you are at work. Bwahahaha.. I kid.. I kid. Damn... a goat pun.

Ahh, yes the mind numbing siren call of COBOL - a great language when computers were computers and nothing was virtual - everything was 'real'....
