I got a call from a daughter a family I've been doing tech support for ages.. her boyfriend came across a iMac 5, 1 and wanted to know how to restore it to the original OS and what not.. and then if it was worth hawking on craigslist. I initially said "sure.. go get the newest OS selling at bestbuy and install it.. it should work and you should get three or four hundo.." then I get home and look it up.. ew.. 2006 mac products do not seem to play nice with the new OS. Stupid macs.

Trying to figure out caching in hibernate for consistence across concurrency. "Hey let's use this framework nobody knows instead of one everybody knows! What could possibly go wrong?" What could go wrong is your application doesn't work for more than one user.

Surprise 'work from home/snow day' today. Folks were told 'at best - one to two inches of blowing snow', but in reality it was more like six inches with a layer of ice to cushion the snow from the concrete.

While this typically isn't a bad day for "remote in from home and "do work" "... all my notes, paper work, and accoutrements for this project (I was hoping to finish today) are now stuck at the office. Yeppie f'n skippy.

We had a chance for light flurries, nothing else though. I'm not sure at what point it changes from being considered flurries to actually snowing, but I think it's well before the 3" of accumulation mark (that's the last time I measured, yesterday evening, but it kept snowing through the night).
