Check, not cheek. That would just be weird. "Yeah, I got my boss's taco on my cheek."

*fucking autocorrect

I'm doing a happy dance because my request for a mental health break has been approved. Today is my Monday. Tomorrow is my Friday. Six day weekend.

No email.
No text messages.
No phone calls.
No offices.
No bosses.
No coworkers.
No updates.
No development.
No graphic design.
No databases.
No content management systems.
No committees.
No meetings.
No putting on pants.

It's moments like these I wish I kept a flask in my desk for celebratory purposes.

Speaking of a flask, is it too early to start drinking? And did I mention that I HATE SUPPORT?!

<edit>

Paraphrased conversation that I just had:

Fucktard: "When we run these reports, we're not getting the results back that we used to."

Me: "Well, apparently there was a small problem in a couple of the report filters. You know, the ones that your entire department tested for nearly a month and said were good? Yeah, so we had to fix those because it was causing issues on another project."

Fucktard: "Oh, well we're not naming things in this project based on SOP."

Me:".............." *head explodes*

Right now I rolled my chair just to the edge of my cube.. and I am surveying my coworkers and silently contemplating if I should get a few cases of Kickstart... you know - it is Mountain Dew plus more OJ and sold as a breakfast alternative.

Just finished cleaning up three separate download pages to the point where I can consider turning them into one download page, or at least combining some of the duplicated code.

Took me a lot of the day, but I feel good about it. I've reversed entropy, at least locally.

(According to the second law of thermodynamics, I've increased entropy somewhere. If you experienced spontatneous breakage, that was probably me. Sorry about that.)

So project boss requests an employee to come back and help me because I I'm all alone on my particular job site and I have some long and hard (*snicker*) wire pulls that need done and 2 people would be better than one. Well, anyways, dude comes back friday, tells me what wires needed pulled where (as if I didn't already know), then be's all like "whelp, sucks, I know. Have fun!" Then he walks off and leaves me to do them by myself while he takes 4 45 min shit/smoke breaks, sits in the back corner mechanical room (relatively hidden) to "look at the drawings/waiting for a phone call", or something. Then he bitches at me because its taking me all day to pull these wires. Omfg.

I know he legit had some stuff to do that only he could really do, but project bossman said he requested him back to help me and he isn't. :/

In a moment of pure genius, I sent out a campus-wide email asking for changes to the website that ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NO EXCUSES HAD to be completed THIS week to be sent to my inbox no later than 10AM tomorrow, in preparation for my little vacay, right?

Yeah... I've been inundated with everything from "there's a spelling error on pagename.html that I've been meaning to tell you about for 6 months" to "we're having a departmental open house in July... it needs to be posted before you leave" to "ohmigosh! I'm so glad you let us know you were leaving! I completely forgot to send you this season's basketball scores so far - these need updated ASAP!" Because the world will end if Roger down the street doesn't know the score of the junior college women's basketball game from the second week in December.

It's three vacation days, people - not three weeks, not three months, three DAYS.

No one to blame but myself. I could have posted an out-of-office message before leaving tomorrow and had two easy days before my vacation. It's my own fault.

Guess what: you now have a nice issues list for when you get back. That'll be handy.

Actually, I've been hauling ass today... out of 39 updates, I have 2 remaining to complete... and an hour and a half to get them done. Then I'm off to burn off the stress at the gym, take my kid to karate, and home to a Crock Pot dinner... and the relaxing can begin.
