Working on Eyes of the Dragon today. With not a lot of time to devote to it progress is slow but at least making some progress.

I tore down a set of bunk beds this morning to be shipped to my brother's house so he can convert the set into two separate loft beds. I've been doing laundry for weeks, it just never seems to end. And I'm about to start scrubbing carpets. When that's done, I'll start sorting through kitchen cupboards and deciding what's going to next weekend's yard sale, what's going in the trash, and what's going to the new place.

Actually, this is a function of age. It's Classic ASP and VBScript circa late '90s. The guy who wrote it was a freaking visionary, doing Ajaxy stuff before it existed, but the rub is that the whole "include" paradigm (literally including an entire page in another one just to gain access to a function) basically leaves us chasing spaghetti strings every time we need to fix/modify functionality. But I guess I can't complain, because at least it's not PHP...

Just cleaned out the fish tank... one neon tetra is missing, bringing the total casualties to four. Not happy with the new tank arrangement and will probably change it again later, but the fish seem happier in the clean water, and the snails are going nuts, it's surprising that they can move so fast.

The precursor games to Amnesia (made with the same engine, along the same vein) are pretty good. I was doing fine with it until the spiders. Oh, god, the spiders.
Penumbra, if your interested. I need to finish and move on to Amnesia, as I have heard good things about it.

Played Penumbra. Died on the first monster(spider) and gave up on it.

Getting ready for a meeting with the boss. Keeping my fingers crossed that there aren't too many changes and we can get the new site launched this week.

I think I have finally tracked down the memory leak in my program. Its hard to say for certain because it was a slow leak that would really start to manifest itself after several hours of running (which is unlikely for the program anyway, but it is what it is). I have been testing the fix for over two hours and the leftover thread handles are resolving themselves nicely instead of sticking around.

Modifying some Crystal Reports in my project. After many, many hours of pulling out my hair to find why my TableAdapter would not update my Data when only one field was changed, I found that since the cursor was not leaving the field during the 'Save' event, there were no noted changes as the After_Update event couldn't fire while that textbox still had focus()
Oh well, live and learn!

Essentially making sure the company's web systems don't melt down today and cause a several grand to be lost. I achieve this by simply being here. You know, that magical power that car mechanics use when you take your car, that has been making a noise, into the shop and as soon as they sit inside the noise ceases to exist.
By me being here the systems simply have no problems. So I sit here.

Martyr, I feel your pain. When I'm not coding or doing Datbase stuff, I'm probably trying to troubleshoot a problem for our floor personnel who always seem to have a problem that has magically gone away and/or never existed by the time I get out to see what was going on.

I accidentally took a pipe to the butt today. That was exciting in a "OMG DO NOT WANT!" way.
