New and in need!

I'm glad I found this site. Seems like it has some damn good people for just about any situation!

I've got a quick question and I'm not sure where to put it. I'm supposed to design a fuzzer that edits a jpeg file and feeds it to this. Making a fuzzer is no problem but I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm feeding the fuzzed jpegs too.

How can I have my fuzzer feed data to this unknown file? It's apparently a converter but I don't know what it's coded in! The supposed converter has no file type... Help!

I can't attach it for some reason, dang!

Side question - if you don't know what or where this program came from how can we assist?

Well it came from an assignment. The documentations says that it's a binary compiled for a linux machine. What does that mean?

It means it's some app or dll meant to be ran on a linux machine.
