so,
the ubuntu websites were completely hammered, and still are by everyone trying to get their hands on the latest build,
i finally got my hand on the torrent and just finished downloading and burning,
going to install it after my next class.
Anyone done so yet?
I'm excited just because my laptop used to have some trouble with getting the wifi right and this should fix it up.
What should be my first software additions to it.
and im gonna find out soon enough but does Ubuntu Studio come packaged? interested in seeing what kind of offering they made with that.

BWHAAAA! The uBuntu site runs on XAMMP, how elite. I think there is a 0-day released for XAMMP, because this isn't the first website of the kind that I have seen been resetted like this.
Could you tell me whats your wireless chipset? I've been having trouble with wifi on linux too, and I want to know if they fixed the problem.

I'm running Kubuntu Feisty (and have been doing so for quite a while - development versions.) It's great. I finally got suspend working, which gives me a 4 second boot to be ready to run apps. I ran Ubuntu feisty for quite some time (Only just switched to KDE) and it is just as polished and good.

max,
as far as i know,
most problems with wifi have been fixed,
the manufacturers themselves actually came forward and offered their specs instead of having everything being hacked by the ubuntu coders.
so, you probably can find better reading on it,
but im pretty sure your issue will be solved,
ill let you know about mine when i get the system up and running on my lappy (first install is on the desktop)

I've got it installed (let it download all night) but I've got some problems. I couldn't get my Ati Radeon 9250 256mb card to work, so I used my intergrated intel card (I did the same thing for 6.10). Only problem is, while trying to install the fglrx driver, I screwed something up and now I can't even boot from my intel card. I am getting the old "Failed to start x server" message. Can I just go back to the default configuration? Please help. Thanks!
