New Topic/Question
I have one, but it blew up my monitor along with itself. They don't live 5V/1A Apple power plugs very well...

I'm still debating on weather to get one. I don't really have any ideas on what to do with it so I'm holding off for now. I thought about making it into a little tiny server for personal use but I'm not sure how well that would work.

If I had the time, I'd get one and hack together a capacitive touch screen (on epaper) for one, so I could have a tablet that could be at least rolled up, if not folded, and put in a pocket- or a display that could be taped or glued to some surface (eg, a steering wheel) to provide some kind of useful data (spedometer, odometer, gas, engine status, etc).

How is everyone doing with their Pi projects? Anything interesting to note?

It's a general purpose computer running GNU linux. It can do the same things any other general purpose computers running *nix can do. Although you would be limited by your bus and processor speeds. No reason you couldn't hook up some USB drives to it and turn it into a NAS though.
I think it would be cool to buy a collection of these and then turn them into a linux cluster.

Mine should be here in 8ish weeks. No idea what I'm going to do with it yet. I was considering some sort of clustering parallelism type project, but I dunno.

I had the cluster idea too but again, I don't have the experience to say how well that would work 
plus, I don't really think I need a cluster.
If I ever do need a cluster for something I should be able to get some time on my school's 128 node(with like a 1000 cores) cluster where each node is more powerful than my desktop.

I have to wait a long time for mine to arrive to but I already placed my order. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it, but isn't that the point?

why they don't ship with a case...i don't freaking understand.
are they THAT short on manpower that they can't devote a single person to work on the 'PiCrust' project?
it's not like people wouldn't pay
anyone figure out the best way to put this thing into a 5.25" yet? I think someone is in the process of gutting their optical drive and cutting port openings into the drive case.

it's basically made for modders at this point so I don't see how giving someone something they are going to get rid of is going to help any.
