USB communication from phone to PC

hello sir i need to send a simple message from cell phone to PC through USB cable.Irrespective of the cell phone type i must be able to text to my PC. Im good in java programming but i need a guidance to how to start off with this issue as it would be very much helpfull to my project. Please guide me..

There is on industry standard. You will need to use the Software Developers Kit (SDK) for each type of phone you want to support.

Motorola will have their own protocol and set of commands that is different than Seimans... which will be different than Apple... Which will be different than NexTel... Which will be different than Android... You get the idea?

Not all phones even support sending text messages through the phone from the PC. I know Motorola used to support this. I don't know if they still do.
