Hobbies?

Posted 21 April 2007 - 11:20 AM

What are your hobbies. I used to fly R/C planes, played paintball, smoked meth (just kidding).

Other than programming, wtf do you do as a hobby?

I buy shit.

I seriously don't have any hobbies outside of technology. I sit at a computer all day every day. I don't like nature, not much for going out and seeing animals and stuff like that... I do start new technology related projects all of the time though.

I have an extensive DVD collection going, I'm at about 250 now... I like movies.

I write video games (duh). Also, I like to watch Anime and mess around with Photoshop. I also try to sketch characters for various things, and even some I'll never use. I used to play Bomberman all the time to the point where I could beat way too many people at it. I may get into video editing since I got a capture card with my new computer.

Golf...and physics, lame as it sounds. Also, I try to see what kind of extensive damage can be done to various organs through mass consumption of whiskey.

I don't do much. I like to play paintball every now and then, go to the movies, read (though it's usually about programming), etc. I'd like to go and hang out with friends more often then I do, but I already have too much on my plate.

I bike. Since I live far from where the action is at, I usually bike, with my BMX, to downtown, where me and my friend gap random stuff and do stupid shit.

I also do some biathlon in the winter, combination of skate-style ski and shooting.

Rest of the time, I'm either on IRC, gaming, coding or working, or any combination of the latter.

I have all sorts that I'm into so I don't spend much time on each so I don't get very far in anything :P

I'm part way through making a chainmaille hauberk, I've just started learning about electronics so I can make robots, I have a few websites I'm setting up, I read all sorts, I'm trying to learn Kernewek, I have a 10 month old son that takes up a fair bit of my time, I watch way too much tv, listen to quite a wide variety of music, I'm fixing up my house, I have a couple of air rifles and a longbow but I haven't used them in ages and I need a new bow as I've outgrown this one, I'm part way through fixing up my motorbike so I can get a licence and ride that about, I've almost finished building my push-trike (just the brakes and gears to sort out) so I hope to be riding that soon, um...that's all I can think of for now. This is just the non-computer based things (I know the websites are computer based but they are on someone elses :P)

Other than that I'm constantly tinkering with computer hardware and loading different versions of Gnu/Linux to try them out.

Oh and I'm totally down with the whisky drinking (and whiskey, I like the Irish sort too).
