Oracle SQL Developer Export to LoacalHost

Hi. I have SQL Developer connected to an Oracle database which exists on a server at work. At the moment I have to VPN for my Java app to work but I would like to be able to work on it offline. I've tried using SQL Developer to export the DB and import into phpMyAdmin but no luck there. Is there any other software I could try to host this on localhost. I'm on a Mac and I use the JDBC drivers...
