How good is your vision on other desktops

Posted 09 March 2012 - 03:18 PM

We had a young ~25-30 year old CAD guy that kept his screen font size so small that I could hardly read it. LOL He used to draw his own background graphic wallpaper and move icons to suit his latest creation. A nice one he did was like a Star Trek operator panel having rounded rectangle border perimeters of different heights and widths and coloring them in yellow, green and red. I always wondered if he had a LOT of free time. I prefer bigger text in the 12-13 point range. Arial (and its ilk) is a bad choice as a font in some projects that require anything larger than say, 36 point. Verdana reminds me of the green banner above chalkboards showing Aa Bb Cc Dd... So I like that font from my youth plus it scales up well, even 1000! The second, hmm, ok, third best font is the lowly Courier fixed width font. I love to instigate :tt2:

Have you found text size on any other computer (desktop or any display of text) too small to read?

I usually find it too big. Then I change it.

Yeah same, I prefer 11-12px for text generally.

Anything above about 8 inches is probably overkill.

I find they never complain ;)

On topic, the font size never bothers me but I usually like it around 10 font. As long as I can read it... I like my Eclipse font 14 though.
