by years, i use VB6. and i have seen 2 things:
1 - the VB6 have the image box control with transparent color real and even when we create a new control.
well the VB2010 don't. just simulate it(make a copy of parent image background);
2 - we only can do Opacy with form.
ok... the vb.net and above are real OOPL(Object Oriented Programming Language) and we can dispose(delete) a control more easy. but isn't so powerfull than Visual C++ or C#(speaking on Objects).

If anything - the fact that VB6 is sunsetting and not being supported more or less eclipses the whole argument.

I don't quite understand. I haven't really done much graphics related stuff in VB.NET. But if you're asking whether you could make controls transparent, then the answer is of course you can.

i try that using the normal properties. and you can test it:
put an image on picturebox and make it transparent, now use a button and put it on picturebox back and see the diference(i have did these).

Well yeah - e.keycode.up is an enumeration bro... it's not something that is a boolean it's a number behind those readable words.

You also need to use it in an event that makes sense... like the keydown event.

It also helps to have key preview on.

example:

        Select Case e.KeyCode
            Case Keys.Up
	'-- stuff
	Case Keys.Down
	'-- stuff
        End Select

the animated gifs, maybe, is abou my hardware speed(memory and CPU).
but i still with 2 questions:
1 - how make controls realy transparent?

The issue is not the language, but the programmer here. VB6 is a building block to .Net(naturally the case in many situations), because .Net does what that VB6 does not? It encapsulates much more of the Windows API into hundreds and thousands of simple working classes. If you need help with something ask for help, but try to keep your frustration out of this, and try to keep irrelevant discussion out of this. All this looks to me is like your method of trying to work free solutions out of people. Many people say they want something to be transparent, WHAT exactly about the control do you want to be transparent, please describe more.

only the backcolor of control(just hide the backcolor).
i understand what you mean, but i search and research several times without sucess. if you don't wan't tell me how, ate least tell where start reading something for these problems

Do you want to make the Picturebox transparent or the image in it? And how about if you post the code you're using for this? 'Cause I have no idea what you're trying to do.
