VB.NET is identical to C# technology wise; they're both .NET.

You will want to draw them with the GDI Classes of .Net. Two reasons, 1: Picture box is inefficient, slow, and you can't get the proper transparency you want unless you have it on another form overlapping the first one. 2: Drawing is much quicker, and you can draw more specifically to regions. Sounds to me like you're using JHarbour's game programming book, but I could be wrong. Either way you want to learn efficient, practices of game programming. Good time to start.

how i start???
i used VB6.. then i start use the Game Maker. after that i thinked working on vb6 for making games. in that time i only knew working with controls and not very in graphics. in last years i learn so much using API functions and i create my own collision function(collisionprecise() and collisionobjects()) and working with game pad and more;)
i learn more using VB 6 normal books and windows API than using gamming books;)

This is simply not true. I you have a C# code snippet, I'm sure anyone in this forum could show you what the VB.NET version would look like.

i know very things on vb6(inclued graphics api). i know something about C\C++(i learned before for fun). i know Turbo Pascal(for DOS) and i did a tic-tac-toe(on ramdom pc playing), but with some AI on VB6(you can win, but isn't so easy)
and others i don't know.

There are event C# to VB.Net code converters online like this one.

OK they are far from perfect to say the least, but at least you will get a starting point to go on with.
