Java class for manipulating rgb values of images

Posted 14 March 2012 - 07:35 PM

I'm currently working on a project that involves interfacing a vga monitor with an FPGA. I need to display an image of my choosing on the vga display, but the project specs require that the image be a 3 bit rgb image. I found a few images on google that I would like to use that are of the appropriate resolution, but I need to convert them to 3 bit rgb. Are there any Java classes that can help facilitate this?

Thanks
