Kids are on vacay with their dad this week, so I've been scarfing fast food like it's going out of style. Because (1) I refuse to cook if it's just me and (2) the only cheap restaurants within a decent driving distance are Burger King, McDonald's, Arby's, and Subway... and Subway doesn't have a drive-thru.

Doing calisthenics and walking/jogging intermittently, my basic workout set- which I do religiously if I don't have time for anything else- is pushups, crunchers, reverse crunchers (or supermans) and squats, at 2x 15 for each. Other fun stuff include dive bombers, tricep pushups, lunges, and anything bizarre I'm in the mood to try (example: flapping my arms with as much strength and speed as possible, for as many reps as possible, for a few sets. sounds, looks, and feels fucking ridiculous, but gets you to the point of total muscle failure for two muscle groups in a couple of sets).
lost 3 kg, would be more but I've been eating out too much, and heart rate has dropped from 90/160 to 84/157.

Bodyweight exercises everyday. I run when I'm not feeling injured - I need to find some dirt/grass to run on.
I also got a deal on boxing lessons. I'm pretty excited to give that a try as its been an interest of mine for quite some time.

I vist Seattle for work occasionally - I'm actually in Boston for a while. However, it's entirely possible I'll eventually end up in Seattle.

Oh, easier still. I have folks in Seattle, but I'm in Boston.
Trouble is, there really isn't much grass or dirt to run on. Look for bodies of water, there's usually stretches of grass associated with them. For example, along the Charles, you can probably run mostly on grass for a good way. If you can get a short way out of Boston proper, you might consider going along the Mystic, there's some nice wide stretches of grass along there, but I suspect there might be too many cross streets for a good run.
If you want some cross-country terrain, there's the Middlesex Fells, but there's a lot of up-and-down and rocks through there. You'd have to pick a trail that suits you.
You also might get away with running around in the Arboretum - that's probably the biggest open grassy area I can think of. This time of year, the grass will be lousy with picknickers and stuff, but you can sorta jump over them or something.

I've considered running along the Charles - there's a path thing on the Commonwealth Ave side that I could use. I think part of my problem is always too much too soon - I know my muscles and lungs can do it, but my tendons protest. It's hard to know you've done 8ks and have to reign yourself into an 18 minute, easy run.

That's gotta suck. Hopefully the low-impact stuff will get you back to the stuff you want to do - or is this one of those long-term issues?
I have some friends who do a regular run in Cambridge, an easy-paced run that involves stopping at bars for pints. If you're interested, I can try to find the details for you. It's on sidewalks, but what the hell.

Wondering oddly where I went wrong as a child and what these kids are doing right.

It'll be enough to get you moving for two months, anyway.

Hopefully. I hope it's not long term, I think it's just "too much too soon" after a long break from real workouts.

Tempting - though I am trying to cut back on the beer for weight management's sake.

The fact that I've been training in Vibrams makes the progress kinda slow. Maybe I should just get an elliptical lol.
