Learning PHP for Java

Posted 28 March 2012 - 11:27 AM

Since I'm really good with Java and I'm making applets, I'm thinking about learning PHP. I already know basic HTML. So where should I get started? W3 schools?

Best thing we can do in my opinion is to always get a book. Get a good book and read it from cover to cover. It's still a lot better than a bunch of internet tutorials in my experience.

Also check this PHP – FAQ, Guides, Resources

W3 schools and the PHP manual also some quite good. (although the later is more useful as a reference tool)

do not underestimate the User Comments in the Manual! While w3schools may get you started, do not rely on it too much.
