This my attempt of the challenge, which used the async features of .net 4.5
It separates the Game Logic from the GUI.
  • Simon Core
This project contains the core logic for game of Simon
  • Simon
The GUI application built to utilise the Simon Core.

I am thinking about taking a shot at this.

Are submissions VB.Net only, or am I allowed to submit? (I really want to incorporate No2's sound effects) :D

What is the cutoff date for submissions?

VB.net is the preferred submission language.
The challenges are always open for submissions, typically at the end of the month the topic is unpinned from the top of the forum and replaced with the next one.

Ok, just have to consolidate some code and add comments. Zip and send to you right or attach here?

I didn't go with the sounds No2 made on Friday. Did some research and found the sounds from the Simon game and used them. Also, used the specs I found from the Simon game:
31 Rounds, and the speed increases every certain number of rounds. If something needs explaining, I will be happy to explain it. Sorry for the large executable, the sounds are in the resource section. This has to be the largest Assembly exe I have made. :o :D

Source, sounds and working exe are in zip. I might just have to add a scoreboard to it now :-) It is nothing fancy, but it works.

I added a level select and now I think I will turn this into a tutorial. :-)

Here is an update. I moved the program to my other monitor and you couldn't tell the yellow was "lit up" so I changed the yellow on color. Added a skill level selection, and fixed a bug where you could select a color after you won/lost without hitting start.
