New to Linux and installed Ubuntu, can anyone recommend an Anti-Virus?

The best anti-virus I can recomend is Common Sense. However if you still want an anti virus here is a good place to start.

Steps to insure your security with linux without a AV are don't download anything from anyone you don't know. A big one is stick with open source. You should be able to mostly anything you need in linux and it would be open source. Lastly if you stick to your distributions software repository your are going to be safe. The thing to remember however is to have fun.
If you do decide to go without an AV defend your neighboor and only send plain text emails.

ClamAV tends to be the standard on *nix.
