Your virtual bookshelf

Posted 28 April 2007 - 10:16 PM

I found this web site where you can create a virtual bookshelf to show off with the books you have or wish.
You can also see what others are reading, get/give recommendations, share your opinion and so on...

Some of you will probably know this site already, others will not care about it.
Just wanted to mention it and find out who on dream.in.code is also on this site.

Check it out: http://www.shelfari.com
My user is AngeluS.

Well I went and added the first few shelvs of my actual book shelf. Many of the books I own were too old to add by ISBN. I may acutally search for them at a later date.

Doesn't anybody read any good books anymore? Why does it all have to be abstract math and 'how to' computer programming books?

I like this idea but I'll need to take a week off work to get all my books on there...I'm kinda addicted to books and I can't bring myself to part with them once I own them.

dude, i always say the same thing. the last book thread i made had a strict 'no textbooks/manuals' clause to it.

Edit:

Alright, I gave in and made my own profile. Here's a random list of books that I have read/have recently gotten and plan on reading over the summer. Some of these books take me back a long way, but all of them are great.

Now that I've harassed all of you on your poor book selection, give me your worst. I can take it.

Nice list. I actually just picked up "The Art of War." I'm starting to read it now, but it's going pretty slowly because it's all in Chinese.

i... like a lot of your books...

that site needs to do a better job at scaling images so i can read what the books are without having to click them. it's a pretty neat idea though.

I went ahead and started one. I don't have many books, so it'll stay pretty empty .. . I like the concept though.

That's cool. Wish I could actually compress my books like that though so they didn't take up so much room in my flat.

I've put a few on there, but it'll take a long time to add all my books!
