Hi everyone,
At work, I was finally given my own office. In order to have a usable computer to work on instead of my laptop, they gave me an old computer with a Pentium 4 processor. Anyways, I can't seem to get it to fully boot up. It gets past the bios screen then gives me this error message:
Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key
So I went into the bios and looked to see what the device priority is set as. The hard drive is set first then the DVD drive. I then went back to the main screen of the bios and that's when I noticed that under Primary IDE Master it shows the hard drive and then Secondary IDE Master says Not Detected. Under Third IDE Master it show the DVD Drive? There are 2 places on the motherboard to plug it into and both of them place it under Third IDE Master. Could this DVD drive problem be what is causing the error?

Check the jumpers on the IDE hard drive & verify that it's selected to master, & the DVD drive should be set to slave.

No, I think your issue is that there is no Operating System on the hard drive that had been detected.
Can you try installing an Operating System, as in Windows XP or Ubunto?

I found the issue to the problem about a month ago. Both of the hard drives that I had tried were bad. Once I put in a good hard drive it worked fine.
