Hey guys. I love samurais, everything about them is so fascinating.
Does anyone know where I can get armour? Not looking for cheap knock offs, I'm looking for a legitimate suit, helmet and all.
But where would I find a suit of armour as such? I'm also looking for websites selling legitimate metal (forgot the real names) samurai swords.
Thanks.

Just so you know, there are probably no period suits of samurai armour that will fit anyone much over five foot tall.
Unless it was treated very well, it would fall apart if you tried to put it on. Not the pieces themselves, but the attachments. They used either leather ( rare in Japan ) or silk, both of which rot. Leather can be preserved. Silk, well, it's just worm spit; once it's done it's done.
The swords are called "swords." However, the name most commonly associate with Japanese swords is katana.

If I purchassed a period suit, why would I want to wear it? Despite the fact I am 6ft tall and over weight, I wouldn't be able to pull myself to wearing something so old.
And yes, I know this, but I'm talking about the blade materials.

If you want to suit of armour and a sword it sounds like you're getting ready to go joust windmills. Hence, the logical assumption you want to get dressed up like Musashi and have at.

This sounds like one of those things you need to make or have made, and not to period spec either. Almost all armor, including modern ballistic vests, kind of have a shelf life.
