I am curious as to how many people would actually say yes to doing this in this time period--not the future with what we have available today.

Yes and more yes. I tangentially know a certified space travel agent and have made mention that if she needs someone to get first hand experience, for discount, I would be willing to go.

There are also these guys if you are feeling a balloon might be better.

I have a list of people whom I would spend 200k to send into space. Though I need a guarantee that they don't come back.

this sounds interesting but I think it would take to long to get there and then there is the thing about being that high in the air------

no2 - would you be willing to donate 200k with no guarantee that they'll stay there? I mean if there was a high probability they WOULD come back? 'cuz I might know a guy who would be interested. ;)

Only if I got a guarentee that they went in a non-pressurized part of the shuttle.

I realize I'm getting saggy, but isn't this method of removing outdated inventory a little harsh?

(also, spaceport america is about 3 hours from my home, so i plan on eventually taking a launch in. holla)

The question is vague. Are you asking if one could go into space based upon today's technology would they? Or are you asking how much would one be willing to pay to travel into space today?

If it is the second question then are you asking based upon current circumstance or is it 'how much would you need to justify spending x to go into space?'

Yes I would go with today's technology.

I couldn't afford it.

If money weren't a consideration wouldn't think twice (though I'd probably then plan a moon trip or something, why do it half-arsed?)
