The question is vague.

Only if you are a dunce.

Do you want to go into space, it's available.

Is that an offer? Pay the bill and I'd do it in a flash.

(I answered the question above but I still don't understand whether the OP wants to know about people perceptions of the safety risk vs. reward or the economic viability & peoples willingness to pay for space travel.)

Based on this, your entire statement, (not mashed together from two separate posts to make a fallacious point) you may want to look up the word conversation. Also I note that out of 7 replied to this topic only 3 people actually answered the OP. Perhaps you should try that instead of using your moderator status as an excuse for inane and inaccurate comments/insults?

I'm thinking the easier question would have been...

"WHO DOESN'T!???"

I insulted people just fine before I was an administrator.

However, come to think of it, I've never opened a topic making racist jokes.

** Update **

How many seats do I get for 200k? I think I just added one more to my list.

I'll pass on the space travel until we're using the equivalent of cruise ships in the sky. Thanks though.

Y'know...if the biggest attraction of going into space is the whole "weightless" thing (and I know it'd be for B9), they have folks who own planes that fly the weightless parabola thing where it allows you to experience microgravity for a couple minutes at a time.

Hell, if they'll float crips, they'll float anyone...and while it ain't cheap (around $5K per person) it's a damn sight less than full blown space travel at a couple hundred big a pop.

no way, the biggest attraction is that's SPACE. how many people in all of humanity's existence have got to go to SPACE?! like .000001%? going to SPACE would be badass.

Fuck weightlessness. If I'm getting into some new fangled flying contraption, it had better be shooting me to places unseen. I don't want to be weightless, I just want to weigh less. Subtle difference, but a difference just the same.

Fair enough. But at what count would it cease being badass? I mean, no lie, I've wanted to be an astronaut for as long as I can remember. I recall with great clarity my mom and dad getting me out of bed when I was little to watch Neil Armstrong step onto the Moon. Growing up in the late 60's and through the 70's, space flight was a big deal.

I'd enjoy the rocket ride, the weightlessness and the view. But, the rocket ride can be simulated and I've found that views, while they can be spectacular, don't hold interest long enough to solely justify going into space. I guess, if it wasn't such a unique achievement, would it still be worthwhile? I mean, maybe to folks like us who certainly wouldn't take it for granted...but what about 3-4 generations down the road who (hopefully) will find space trips routine?

There's an assload of risk perching on what is really nothing more than a controlled chemical explosion to be hurled up into an airless void, being bombarded by radiation and gamma rays and that's all to ignore the threat of the clear alien menace that lurks out there.

Depending on how smooth the launch is or isn't, does pooping yourself empty count?
