We must have had a snow day or something that day because I specifically remember being at home - laying on the floor in front of the TV with my dad in the recliner behind me and hearing my mom go, "OH. MY. GOD."

And given that it was January and I'm in the frozen tundra, a snow day would have been entirely possible.

We were allowed to watch it outside, as we didn't have tvs in our school. I also remember there was a lot of snow, but not enough that we had the day off.

Wait, I'm confused. I thought I was in the 6th grade, but if this was 1986, I would have been in 3rd grade. It's all a blur at this point.

What year did the Bears win the Super Bowl?

Funny how nearly everyone has one of those moments where something truly monumental happened and they remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when it happened.

I didn't find out until a couple of months ago, during a discussion we were having about that very concept, that my mother in law was in Dealy Plaza in Dallas the day JFK got shot. The route the president's motorcade was traveling goes underneath a bridge...and she was on it to see the president go by. She saw the whole thing albeit from somewhat far away. She was telling me she didn't know exactly what was wrong but recalls seeing Jackie lunge up out of the backseat and onto the trunk of the limo and she recalls thinking at the time that something had happened to the first lady. She thought the president had ducked or something.

Even my wife was saying "wait...you were there?". She had never heard the story and my wife's grandmother was nodding "yes, Diane (M.I.L.) was there".

With as horrible as my math skills are proving to be in trying to figure out some simple numbers & time lines, any argument against your statement isn't looking good

If you were 21 at the time of your hs graduation, I'm afraid you didn't really "graduate" like all the other kids, pumpkin. They kicked you off the short bus to make room for someone higher functioning.
